Curtis Plummer (Ice Cube) - a down-on-his-luck former high school football star - makes her niece, Jasmine (Keke Palmer from Akeelah & The Bee), into the quarterback of the local team, the Minden Browns, and gets its way back when he becomes the coach of the team. With Curtis as its new leader and its use pigtail-star player, the team of misfits win their way to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and the small town of Minden, Illinois, is re-ignited with team spirit, the city pride and glory that once knew.
